David Wooden Studio recently won this project in collaboration with DesignGreen from the non-profit organization Restore Mass Ave. From Restore Mass Ave:
“This exciting project will transform the bare sidewalk on Massachusetts Avenue west of Dupont Circle with 11 more shade trees for 14 in all. The trees’ soil and rooting area will catch and utilize rain runoff. With more leafy canopy cleansing the air and a space designed for people and bikes, the Plaza will be a new community landmark.”
Working with Michael Vergason Landscape Architects David played an instrumental role on the design team design for the 7th Street Pier at the Wharf in SW Washington, DC. His work with complex 3d modeling tools helped to develop the sweeping curves of the pier applying slope and boundary constraints in the parametric model.
Working with Campion Hruby Landscape Archtitects David developed a green infrastructure plan for the entry area and parking lot of the Adkins Arboretum.
Working with DOEE David developed conceptual plans for a schoolyard green infrastructure project at Ludlow-Taylor Elementary school in NE Washington, DC. He collaborated with teachers, parents and the principal to design a space that incorporates learning, urban agricultural and play.
Working with DOEE David managed green infrastructure implementation programs across DC at housing communitites, non-profits and faith-based organizations. He performed outreach, site analysis, design and overall project management.
